My name is Leroy Torres II and I am the owner/ trainer for hays county kennels. My family has lived in Hays county since 1909 and I am proud to carry on this tradition. I graduated from Mississippi State university with a degree in finance and marketing and it was in the Mississippi hill country that I got my first black lab and fell in love with watching him learn. After graduating I went on to work for Charles Schwab in Denver, Colorado as a stock broker and for Bank of America as an investment advisor. During my time in the Rockies  I began what I consider to be my “formal” education in training at a local hunting club nestled in the foothills of the. In the summer of 2024 I retired from finance, founded Hays county kennels and have been blessed to work dogs every day since.
